Issue 14: Denim Carries the Week.
This week the studio built almost everything on denim, then asked what sits on top of it. A racing jacket, a leather vest, a line-drawn shirt, a tank. The Grand Blue Jean appears twice because it earns it.
The Bond Blue, Worn Down
The Bond Blue Jacket is the most considered piece in the issue, so the rest stays plain: Grand Blue Jean, Monster Slides, the Leather Cuff Bracelet at the wrist. Blue on blue keeps the jacket from reading as costume. Late evening in Lekki, air-conditioned rooms, a drive that ends somewhere with a dress code you can ignore.
Bling Top, Two Lengths
The Bling White Top sits above two bottoms, and you choose by the hour. The Booty Short for the afternoon; the Duo Belt Chinos Jort when the room fills up and you want more leg covered without losing the shape. Ruby Heels finish both versions, which is the point of buying one pair.
Nas Tee, Nothing Else Loud
This is the look for the day you are not leaving the estate. Nas Tee over the Crux Cotton Boxers, then a decision between Strokes Slides and the Hollow Summer Slides 2.0. The tee carries the whole thing; keep everything under it quiet and it works for the gate, the pool and the delivery at the door.
Leather Over Denim, Bag to Match
The Yat Leather Vest sits directly on skin or over a plain tee, and the Duo Phase Denim Pant gives it a full-length base. The Zavian Denim Tote continues the same material to the hand, so the vest stays the only contrast. Three pieces at ₦222,000, and none of them will look dated by next season.
Scars Tank, Pick Your Pant
The Scars Tank Top is the constant. Under it, the Rockie Denim Pant is the wider, heavier commitment at ₦268,400; the Jeux Bootcut Pant at ₦116,500 flares later and sits closer through the thigh. Try both in the studio before deciding which line you want the tank to fall over.
Line Art Shirt, Derby Underneath
The Line Art Shirt does the talking, tucked or loose over the Grand Blue Jean. The BALENCIAGA DERBY sharpens the hem and moves this from a Saturday look to something that survives a meeting in Maitama. Pine Sunglasses at ₦11,400 are the cheapest thing on the body and the first thing anyone notices.
