WEEK OF 27 JUL
How Things Sit: Seven Looks From the CRUX Studio.
This week we pulled seven looks straight off the studio rail. Nothing conceptual — just combinations we would actually wear through a Lagos workday, an Abuja evening, and everything in between. The focus, as always, is on how the pieces sit on the body, not how loud they read.
Line Art, Softened by Wash
The Line Art Shirt does the talking here, so the Wash Curve Jeans stay faded and quiet underneath. The Balenciaga Derby anchors the whole thing — a hard sole against soft denim keeps the look from drifting casual. Wear it to a gallery opening, a long lunch, anywhere you sit down and stay a while.
Short Lengths, Two Ways
The Bling White Top pairs with either the Booty Short for evenings or the Duo Belt Chinos Jort when the day calls for more structure. The Ruby Heels lift both versions the same way. This is a deep-tone look built for rooftop hours — Victoria Island after six, or an Abuja dinner that starts early and runs late.
Tank Up Top, Volume Below
The Scars Tank Top is cut close, which is exactly why the trousers can go wide — the Rockie Denim Pant if you want full volume, the Jeux Bootcut if you want the flare to break clean over the shoe. One narrow, one wide. That contrast is the whole look, and it holds up in Lagos heat.
Racing Jacket, Everyday Pace
The Bond Blue Jacket over the Grand Blue Jean keeps everything in one tonal lane, which is what stops a racing jacket from looking like a costume. Monster Slides bring the pace down; the Leather Cuff Bracelet is the small detail that says it was on purpose. Errands, studio visits, evening drives — this one covers ground.
The Compound Uniform
Nas Tee over the Crux Cotton Boxers — this is the look for the hours nobody photographs. Strokes Slides or the Hollow Summer Slides 2.0 finish it, depending on which pair is nearer the door. Saturday morning, generator humming, nowhere to be until later. Dress for it properly.
Leather Against Denim
The Yat Leather Vest over the Duo Phase Denim Pant is a texture pairing, not a colour one — leather sits stiff, denim moves, and the eye reads the difference. The Zavian Denim Tote carries the day and ties back to the trousers. Wear it when you want presence without saying anything.
One Shirt, Sharper Frame
Same Line Art Shirt as earlier in the issue, restyled over the Grand Blue Jean with the Balenciaga Derby and Pine Sunglasses. Darker below the waist tightens the silhouette and lets the print carry into evening. Proof that one good shirt earns two looks a week.
