№ 004 — WEEK OF 17 AUG
Issue 14: Denim Weight, Leather Edge, Slide Season.
This week is built around weight — how a jacket sits on the shoulder, how denim breaks over a slide, how a heel changes the line of a short. Every look here was cut and photographed in the studio, styled the way it would actually leave the house. Read it with the weather in mind: Lagos humidity, Abuja evenings.
The Bond Blue, Grounded
The Bond Blue Jacket does the talking, so everything under it stays quiet — Grand Blue Jean in a matching register, Monster Slides to keep the whole thing off-duty. The Leather Cuff Bracelet is the one detail that reads at close range. Wear it to an evening thing on the Island where you want to look considered, not dressed up.
Short Hem, Long Line
The Bling White Top over the Booty Short is the base; the Ruby Heels are what stretch the silhouette. Swap in the Duo Belt Chinos Jort when the plan runs past sundown and you want more structure at the waist. This is a daytime-into-dinner look — it holds up in both lights.
Nas Tee, Nothing Extra
One statement piece — the Nas Tee — and everything else stays functional. Crux Cotton Boxers underneath, Strokes Slides or the Hollow Summer Slides 2.0 depending on how far you're walking. This is the compound uniform: Saturday errands, someone's veranda, a match on someone else's TV.
Leather Over Denim, Denim in Hand
The Yat Leather Vest sits close to the body while the Duo Phase Denim Pant carries the movement — two textures, one direction. The Zavian Denim Tote ties the pant back in and holds more than it looks like it should. Best after 6pm, when leather stops being a commitment and starts being the point.
Tank Up Top, Weight Below
The Scars Tank Top keeps the upper half light so the trouser can carry the look. The Rockie Denim Pant is the full-volume option; the Jeux Bootcut Pant is the same idea with a cleaner taper through the thigh. Pick by mood — both let the tank breathe, which matters by 2pm in Lagos.
The Line Art Shirt, Worn Straight
The Line Art Shirt is the print, so the Grand Blue Jean stays plain and the Balenciaga Derby keeps the floor serious. Pine Sunglasses finish it without competing. This is what you wear when the invitation says nothing about dress code and you'd rather be the best-cut person in the room than the loudest.
